Non blinking indicator bulb, but both bulbs work!!!

Hello, I have a problem with my front nearside indicator. The inner indicator bulb does not blink but the outer one does blink. I have swapped both bulbs & holders on that side around with each other and it remains the same - only the outer bulb works. I have jiggled the grey & brown wires around in case there was a contact issue or something like that but still no blinking on the inner one.

Would I be right to assume that there is no power getting to the inner bulb/holder? If so any advice on what I can do next bearing in mind that space inside the light encloser is very limited.

I look forward to any advice you may have to offer me because at this moment in time I am stumped.

Update. I have now found out that the grey and brown wires are going to the side light...there seems not to be any wires going to the inner indicator. How can that be right?

Have you compared it to the other side? :?

Hi Rob...not yet but I have now found out that on the outer indicator there is a brown and grey wire and on the inner indicator there is a brown and blue wire. I have taken the blue & brown wire plastic attachment off so I can see a little bit better and I have tested the wires with a volt meter and no electric on the blue and brown.
My question now is ...is there an independant fuse for each bulb? Why would there be brown & grey wires going to one bulb and then brown and blue to the other? Why would they not be the same colours? Can I splice the outer one to the inner one?

I have now looked at the drivers side lights and it is the same blue & brown and grey & brown wires...drivers side both bulbs work and on the offside only one bulb works. I've had a look at the fuses 14 and 23 and they are fine.
I don't know what else I can do and it's annoying me.

Sounds like a corroded bulb holder or damage to the wires feeding it, have you measured voltage leaving the fuse holder?

When I swap the bulb and the plastic bulb holders around they all work by themselves. So the bulbs are ok, the bulb holders are ok.
So yes, it has to be the blue and brown wires.

If I were to splice the grey wire into the blue wire do you think that I may make things worse? :?

Sounds more like the module that controls the indicators has dropped the feed

Body control module is usual culprit... think BMW use ZKM
