Noise With Carbon Fibre Rear Spoiler On M Coupe

Recently had the oem carbon fibre rear spoiler fitted and noticed after the first spirited drive above 70mph that there is sufficent wind turbulance noise eminating from the rear of the car! Thought at first I had a puncture or something was loose, stopped and had a check around and nothing was obvious so put it down as an attribute from fitting the spoiler. So my question is has anyone else identified the same noise with the same spoiler fitted?

That wind turbulence noise will be the wind turbulence generated by an airflow spoiling device (spoiler) :D

I'd imagine that is known as characteristic. It wouldn't be working if it didn't make turbulence to reduce tail-end lift I don't think... :?

Maybe better getting a decent diffuser if you are wanting efficient quiet rear-end aerodynamic performance!?

Yes it's terrible..the only thing you can do is take it off and sell it to me!!!

Ha, ha!! Try getting in off now with the adhesive on! I'm after a combination of looks and improved grip, the noise is tolerable but was just after confirmation that the spoiler is where the noise is generating from. It does look nice and understated which is ideal.

hmmm..improved grip ? So you'll be going to 245 / 275 tyres for that then ? I cant see the spoiler adding much grip at anything but (rather) high speeds ? :poke: Looks good tho ! 8)
