Noise while turning the steering wheel

I recently noticed that the car makes a slight noise when the steering wheel is turned. I can hear it quite clearly while parking and when the radio and fans are off. When I am driving I am unable to hear anything.


Basically, it almost sounds like a buzzing sound while the wheel is turned. It is only noticable at parking speed.

Is this normal or do I have a problem with the steering coming up?

It is an electric motor on there, so with no background noise you're probably hearing that. If it's fine in motion, don't fret.

I here this too, slight electric motor noise, usually after starting the car..... I'm not worried

Just to further confirm, this is definitely normal. I had the same on my facelift 3.0si. Again like you, I could only hear it at low speeds - fine at higher speeds.
