Hey guys,
I hit on this topic in my other thread but thought it best to open a new one (as it was becoming a bit off-topic in the other one).
While researching about swapping into M seats and getting a bypass for the light/warnings, I realised that my car's seat belt warning has NEVER worked since I've had the car for the last 3 odd years.
No dash light, no chime, even when going at cruising speed and unbuckling driver or passenger belt. When I turn my key to II, I do get all airbag/seatbelt lights come on, but they then fade off after a set duration (~10s).
I've run a diagnostic tool (C110+) on it tonight and checked the SIM/SRS and there were no fault codes or anything. Datastream indicated th at the key-operated airbag switch for the passenger is ON (I don't have that option anyway).
Most of what I can find on the net is about people wanting to disable it. I don't mind - I am just a bit concerned that the passenger airbag may not fire if needed if it doesn't sense an occupant? This is my primary concern (not fussed if I never have the light/chime).
Anyone have any insights into the airbag firing rules/conditions in my case? Or experience a similar thing in their car?
