This has baffled me & RAC rescue. Went to turn the ignition off a couple of days ago (Z4 3.0 2003) and nothing happened. All the four clicks in the barrel are fine. Key comes out but still running. Stalling only option. Decided to replace the ignition switch. (disconnected battery) however still the same but now there is no throttle response at all. Absolutely nothing. Will tick over. Checked all fuses & relays and all fine. RAC called – Issues found – Not charging although no warning light. Battery at 11.6V (RAC boosted up in case was not helping the issue). Diagnostics would read all data except nothing for EMSl. Booked in Wed local BMW specialist although they don’t sound hopeful if can’t read EMS diagnostics. Very new to Z4’s and just wondered if this is something glaringly obvious or something more sinister. New battery two weeks ago. I do wonder if fitting a non-OEM ignition switch has thrown something. It's the only thing that's changed. The old one is back on and same issue.
