No pressure/water into Boiler

Pressure from taps and shower etc was kind of low yesterday but today it's dropped right off.

Combi boiler was in the green, but when I went to increase the water into it via the tap under the sink it's as if the water system is dead, No water flowing/noise etc through the refill pipe and upon trying the pressure drops in the boiler?!

Any ideas?
 
Has the water been cut off by workmen nearby?
Has someone turned your stop cock off?
Any signs of leaks anywhere?
 
Not sure on the first two questions Silverfox, but have sent a text to my neighbour to see if they're having issues too. Cant see any leaks anywhere but not entirely sure where to look. If the water isn't flowing in from the main repressure valve tap then it might be more serious than a leaky rad right?
 
Sounds a bit strange, leaky rad would usually be a slower rate of failure, sounds like mains pressure loss
 
ITS OKAY!

Just checked Thames Water website. Apparently Blackheath has been hit by a mains water pipe bursting. Repair undeway.

Nothing to do with leaks, but mains supply being mainly cut off. Check your stopcock and see if you can get water from the closest tap to it. If that's OK then see if neighbours are also down and then I'd suspect workmen or an issue upline of you.

There should also be a pressure gauge and 2 taps on a u shaped piece of pipe. Look at your manual and let water back into the boiler mine is 1.1 bar :thumbsup:

Surely you are talking about the pressure in the central heating system. The mains water supply into the boiler for heating and onward to taps is of course at mains pressure.

The only reason to 'let water back into the boiler' would be if op had opened the 2 taps, mains pressure was actually low and the system had lost pressure, which there's no reason for it to have done so.
