No-one else with the roof down?!

Perhaps its just me but with every soft top I've owned I've followed the "If it's not raining, get the roof down" motto, so whatever the temperature, day or night, my roof is down. You do get some weird looks in Dec when you're tucked down low and wearing a hat, but it has to be done!!

So far this week I think I've only seen one other car with the roof down...Surely it's not that cold.... :-?
 
Likewise with me - If I'm driving it, the roof is down, unless it's less than about 4 degrees, or raining heavily enough for it to come into the car.

Same here roof down as much as possible. Some of my best driving experiences have been driving at night over moorland, starry sky etc etc.
For the more mundane commute- "Clears the head for a day at the grindstone-very nicely too".
 
I've had a few close calls with the rain....esp with the crawling speed you have to go to operate the roof. Many a time I've thought "Oh i'll get to the next roundabout before the rain really starts and hopefully the traffic is slow enough for me to have time to do the roof". It was easier when I had mx5's and you could just reach round and pull the roof up..

Defo agree with the clearing your head before work :thumbsup:
 
Among the Z4 population I bet there's a fair few with the roof up because it's broken, I know that's why mine wasn't lowered as often as it is now.
 
Roof down as often as i can, even if it means wearing a big coat and wooley hat :rofl:
 
First week of driving a Z4 and my roof was down. Loved it. On another note first wash coming up this weekend, never had a soft top before is there anything I need to avoid whilst washing the roof?? 8)

I'm reasonably new to the z4 club (5 weeks). I tend not to "wash" the roof. 3 weeks ago l used autoglym soft top cleaner and treatment on mine. It's been fine so far. If it gets dirty again, I'll treat it again. If you need to know about cleaning and detailing, there is a whole section dedicated to this.

Don't wash it. Brush it and vacuum it.

The mazzer pretty much always has roof down
Best was -10 I think

Just a cheap medium firm brush. It looks like this, but I suspect the bristles on mine are softer.

It needs to be stiff enough to actually work (so no paint brush), but not stiff enough to snag or tear the fibres and threads of the roof. Plus go gentle.
