No no no!

Hi everyone

The sun came out today and I went to stick the roof down... Nothing

No noise, no whirring nothing at all.

The motor HAS been replaced previously at BMW by the previous owner about 5 years ago. So surely the compartment the motor is in shouldn't flood as they would have drilled more drainage holes?!

One problem.. I had the car washed yesterday and I suspect they used their jet washers... Which would lead me to believe they had the great idea of jet washing all around the seals and vulnerable bits of the roof and therefore flooded the motor

Also today I struggled to fit in some shopping and the top of a box of coke knocked the top of the boot/bottom of the folding roof? Could this has dislodged anything? It all seems fine and the motor is in the engaged position. Could have dislodged some hydraulic tube? But the lack of any noise or action is worrying!

Could this possibly be ANYTHING else at all? Is there anyway to check for other faults? really dreading having to pay for a new roof motor

Not good news

Are you getting any flashing lights on the roof switch when you press it?

Wow I feel real stupid! I'm usually quite practical but this one got me panicking

The top of the boot was pushed up so caused the roof to not close!

If anybody else has his problem, make sure the top of the boot isn't pushed up by turning the two black circular handles either side of the roof inside the boot

Glad it sorted, although you won't be the first to be caught out with this one
