No Footwell Lights?

Inspired by this thread I had a look at mine today.
I do have a drivers side footwell light but the passenger side is dark despite the light unit being present. I thought perhaps it might be a blown bulb or a loose connection.
So I popped light unit out and then removed the panel. I'm baffled because there is no connector at all despite the light unit being present. I had a good root around but it doesn'nt seem to be there???
