I know it has been done before, but I can’t get the question out of my mind.

I am thinking of changing my z4M in the new year (after the snow inevitably comes) but to what, I have decided to stick with BMW and I have always wanted the M6 but after talking to a dealer who suggested I should try the auto M3 and the performance differences are negligible I am back to square one again :?
So which one? M6 coupe or M3 coupe/convert V8 (auto)?

Ksher has more knowledge of this by the sounds of it. I would say what are the running costs? Much different between the two? What does your heart say?
Once you've bought it you have to get in it every day and say to yourself 'f@@k me this is fabulous!'
If you don't think you will, don't buy it.
For me i would choose an M3 over the 6 but then i never have felt the 6 shape really works. I know a couple of people who've had 6's and loved them though, likewise with the M3.
How long are you planning on keeping the car also, what will future depreciation be like? Are you looking for new or second hand? If second hand what does your money buy you age/warranty wise on both cars?

I have to say, if i were changing car i probably wouldn't buy another BMW, the E89 is my third beemer and I'm kind of falling out of love with BMW as a manufacturer. That does give me something of a problem when the time to change comes. :-(
