Newish shape VW Beetle (02-08)

Hi all,

I'm after a VW Beetle for daughter, needs to be a 1.4 or 1.6 for insurance purposes. Wacky colours are good so yellow and green are ok but happy with any colour apart from the mid electric blue (in my eyes it doesn't suit).

Lots of cars about sub 60k miles and sub £4000 but most do not have air con. Call me fussy but main company car BMW touring has air of course, so too does our Z4 so if I'm going to have a lift of daughter - she's had enough off me over recent years - I would prefer air con.

QUESTION; can air con be retro fitted to a car without? Should be parts avail from the breakers incl switchgear so shouldn't be too expensive to do in used parts? Any ideas?

I take your point. Have founds a couple of low mileage cars said to be in perfect A1 as new condition and in budget but both do not have air con. I have found one with air but it's done 60,000 miles, double that of one of the cars without air con so my thinking was to spend a few hundred retro fitting air to the low miler - similar price to the higher mileage car so it sort of makes sense! :thumbsup:

However, as you say, it might cost a bit when you think I will be paying for the labour toooooooooooo.

i once inquired for this to be done on a old car i had,and the guy said it wont be worth it due to cost,but my car was not 6 grands worth
