Thanks to all the Cruise control contributors as I've now completed the install and hey; it operates fine - would like a warning light but that's asking to much.
Moving on, simple questions but hard to find the answers, what is the engine oil capacity including filter, I've found 4.25 litres but not sure if that included the filter - (non bmw web info), don't want to overfill!
This car has covered 33k in 7 yrs and believe the spark plugs haven't been changed, (not sure but no record) I've bought a set of NGK Iridium type IZFR6H11 as according to by local car component store data, pricey! are they correct? and before I attempt to change them how do you totally remove the filler cap to take off the cover - twist and flick open but it needs totally removing, do I lever it off?
Those RFT are going to the bin next week (two look new; does anyone want them?) and after much research I going for Vredestein Ultrac Volti - see how I like them. Hopefully I do as I've just bumped into a friend (325 boy) who is about to by Falkens and said the sidewall crack on the Vredesteins! r'well. Oh, I picked up a Space saver from a 318 with jack and brace for £20 - never been on the road, bargain after looking at Ebay prices
Finally filled up with 95 Esso fuel the other day went 1 mile down the road and idle was erratic ie running rough! my other knowledgeable car friend said injectors do play up and suggested injector cleaner, although its settled do a bit now, interesting as I've seen this mentioned on the web sit.

So, hold tight and watch this space! and please please hope my sailing colleges are found safe and soon in Mid Atlantic.

Hi and welcome to the Forum and x2 on the guys missing in the Atlantic.

....and pics of your Zed please

Total oil capacity is 4.3 litres. I would put 4 litres in and see how full it is. I've never had to put any more than 4 in.
I can't help with the spark plugs but I'd like to know how you get on because I'll have to do mine soon.
Not a fan of the text on the sidewall or the tread pattern of the volti's myself, much prefer the sessanta's.
Good luck with it all and enjoy the economy bump you get after the service

Thanks for oil tip as bmw hand and service books keep it close to there chest! still would like to know how to remove the oil filler cap without levering on it!

Oh, my Z is what I call electric blue same colour as my XJR1300 Yamaha, touch up paint matches!! Also has off white leather electric seats, M-sport wheels en steering, overall I'm very please as comparing it to my MGTF (2009) or as you may say no comparison!

Oil filler cap just unscrews. Mine was a bit tight to undo the first time but its been fine since then. Turn it about 1\4 turn then it should come out.
