Newbie with Sat Nav Firmware Issue

Hi All, I bought a 3.0 E85 6 months ago and love it. However, I have created an issue I can't resolve and am looking for help/idea's.

I have the dash mounted flip screen nav unit and bought a map and firmware upgrade disc from eBay. This kind of worked for a week but now the screen is just blank. The controls work fine when I can remember the button sequences. I think it is an issue with the firmware in the VDO Dayton unit. Is there a know good source for a firmware disc to return it to the original condition? or do I need to remove the Dayton unit and send it off for repair?

what version did you update it too and it might be the DVD doesn't like copied discs. you could try here http://neiloakley.com/

Below is what I was advised to buy and install by the bay seller after sending them photos of my GPS unit and original disc.

Version 2019 BMW "High" navigation map (Europe) for the older sat nav systems (MK 4 DVD), i.e. non i-drive. (7 Series is the exception as also takes this disc.)

Also supplied with the V32 upgrade CD which will unlock many hidden feature.
