Bought my Phoenix yellow 3.0Si on 11 May 2018 in Devon and drove it home to Bangor in N Ireland - 600 mile trip. Car didn't miss a beat. What a time to buy - the first rain during the day arrived on 13 June so hood doesn’t know what it’s like to be up!😄. Sorry for not getting all the photos the right way up - beyond my technology skills !

Wow these PY cars are popping up all over the gaff at the moment!

I bought a PY e92 last week and thought it was rare - seems its common as muck

Think I've got the photos right this time!! The car was very much worth the 600 mile trip to lift her. She handled really well when I got her but even better now with the 8 1/2" and 9 1/2" staggered wheels - just a joy to drive. The wee thing is absolutely mint including the engine bay.

I had considered lowering it but I don’t really want it to be uncomfortable to drive which is partly why I changed the original 18” wheels to a different set of 18” ones rather than going 19” with smaller tyre profile. Would I be better to go lowering springs or coil overs if I decided to lower it? Would the drive be much firmer/harsher if I lowered it? It would certainly improve the stance. How would she handle the speed bumps if lowered as we seem to have speed bumps everywhere over here?

coilovers will be a harsher ride - i have them on mine however only budget ones. Eibach 30mm springs are a good compromise as they seem to improve the stance without loss of comfort or ride quality.

Lovely car lucky.

And if you ever want to be rid of the mud spats (I know everyone's tastes are different) please let me know. I'll buy them from you.

It’s that sort of colour where you either love it or hate it, there’s really no in between! The Phoenix yellow is relatively rare and I’d love to know is that because it was an individual colour or just simply because people didn’t particularly like the colour which then led to not that many being sold. Maybe someone in the forum could shed light on why there’s not that many around. I also loved the M3 in Phoenix yellow but at the time of trying to buy one there were none available, probably because I’m too fussy! Bought an M5 instead back then which I recently sold to find the PY Z4. I’ve also got a 535d but since driving the Z4 on a very regular basis the 535d appears to handle like a boat in comparison to the wee PY baby.

Its an individual colour. I have a phoenix yellow e92 3 series and it says on the vin decoder it's a special order indivdual

Thank you for your comments. It really is a beautiful wee car in pristine condition. My problem is it will want for nothing so no early retirement for me.
The weather forecasters phoned me personally yesterday and told me to keep the roof down for next few weeks at least 😂. That said it’s sometimes more pleasant to keep the roof up and the air con full up. It holds the road like glue so it’s great seeing a roundabout ahead. All it needs is a limited slip diff so that’s something I’ll need to look into. Anyone on the forum here have any recommendations?
