Newbie Question ZHP Short Shift

Hi there,
Had my Z4 for a while now and was reading the posts about the short shift gear know (P/N 2511789886).
I contacted my local BMW dealer in Hamilton and he has told me that the part can be order but its not listed for my Z4.

Its a 05 plate roadster. Will this gear knob although not listed for my Z4 still fit?
Will it require any additional work?

Would hate to spend £45 for something that wouldn't fit car

PS. just got my stubby aerial delivered from the Sates to replace BMW origional. Will be fitting that tonight

mines an 04 plate and the ZHP fitted just fine

i read somewhere that the gear knobs have been standard across all models since 199X (can't remember the exact year).

I have an 05 and the ZHP knob.. no problem at all.

It is a shorter slightly heavier gearknob. makes shifting alot easier (shorter throw and less effort).

originally used in one of the e46 3 series cars (I believe...)

dont have one of the old one - but here is one with the new ZHP in place

got the zhp today and tried the usual yank off the old one but it wont budge is there another way of removing the old gearknob

Pull harder and be carefull you don't hit yourself in the face when it comes off.....pull hard enough and it will come off.

thanks, gave it a very slight twist and it came off with little force, new one looks great.

My Z4 has the light grey leather gear surround and handbrake, does the ZHP come in grey? Anybody here fitted the black leather knob with the grey leather surround?

been out and tried the zhp and it does make the gear change much better well worth £40
