Newbie question re breaking springs

Hi again

I have to commit tomorrow to buy my first Z4 if my offer is accepted but after reading all the threads about broken springs, should I think twice.

The car I am after is out of warranty as a 56 plate and has the M Sport Package.

Past Beemers I have had that had the M Sport set up had lowered springs so I am not sure if this Z4 has different springs to those that have been breaking or whether there are questions I could ask the seller about his spring history?

Any advice guys.

I think it is more down to the materials used than the type of spring, the E46 3 Series suffers from the same problem.

It is not a massive cost if it does break at some point.

All cars have their common faults and most cost a lot more than a suspension spring.
