Hi

I've just had my 19" CSL wheels redone on the Z and they look great.

Would like to do what I can to keep them looking that way.

Any recommendations for protective lacquers or waxes from the experts?

Also, I don't see too may recent posts on the likes of Alloy Gators or Rimblades. Has time softened any of the harsh responses on here from several years ago - I seem to have spotted them on quite a few performance cars in the london area

Cheers guys n gals

Hi Gareth,

I recently had red Alloygators fitted to the wheels of my white Z and really like the look of them. After dinging the wheels on two occasions (on a narrow road in Spain and at an airport car park), I thought they'd be a wise move! Cost was £125 incl VAT. A few weeks after having them fitted, the two rear run-flats needed replacement (after 30,000 miles) and I took these to another local approved Alloygator fitter who fitted the new tyres without having to remove the protectors.
Not had any issues with the Alloygators and they give the car a distinctive look, in my opinion.
I have photos that I could post, but not sure how to do this...

Hi been looking at Alloy Gators myself as managed to scuff my nsf rim 2months after having them refurbed,
If you email them they will send you a sample thingy so you can chose the colour that best suits your rims.

Haven't made the jump yet but they do look as if they will do the job.

Can these be fitted to already kerbed rims that then hide the kerbing ? :?

Depends how far down the face of the rim the damage is I suppose.

I'll take a pic of the cross section to show the shape.

To answer my own question, yes they can according to the gator website, worth checking out when I get mine coloured

C5 Gtechniq Alloy Wheel Armour is amazing stuff.

It won't prevent kerbed alloys but it will make your wheels very easy to clean even after months of winter use they come up like new.

£20 or so but well worth it :)
