Newbie Post - On the hunt for a Z4!

Hi All,

Long time car enthusiast here (Aussie now living abroad in the UK) and I am a big fan of the E85/86 Z4. I've owned a string of cars ranging from Japanese to European, most recently an 02 DC5 Integra Type R (the track toy) and an 06 E87 130i 6MT. Owning a 130i made me very much a fan of the BMW straight 6 (the N52 was such a great motor) and hence I am on the hunt for a 6MT E85/86 Z4. I am yet to make my mind up on the Alpina Roadster S, Z4M Roadster/Coupe or 3.0si. Hopefully once lockdown is over I'll be able to get behind the wheel of one!

Welcome to the forum from NZ. You’ll have more to choose from in the UK compared with Oz. Also, quite a range in prices from the E85 to E86 to the Alpina and M’s. Enjoy the search,

I've replied to a couple of your posts on other threads, so I'll wish you good luck with your search.

If a Roadster is an option they tend to be a bit cheaper than the equivalent Coupe, but an Alpina is possibly more special than an M particularly in terms of rarity.

The great thing is that the N52 and the S54 are great engines for sure. I do personally enjoy a LSD so the Z4M has the edge in that regard for me. :driving:

Thanks all! I had planned to put an mFactory LSD in the 130i when I had it but let it go before I had the chance so feels like some unfinished business with an N52. Never the less hopefully get my hands on something soon, spoilt for choice here in the UK.
