Hi guys!! :D

Finally putting some pictures up of my new beauty! Bought her 3 weeks ago now - sterling grey, 79k miles, 3.0ltr, cruise control, heated seats, rear parking sensors...

Have done the sound generator mod already and that sounds awesome but I do think I want it to be louder!! Might look at power flow exhausts... :driving:
Need to sort a few of the badges out, want to get my alloys refurbed (even though they are not drastic...), need to get roof protected - any suggestion on good products? And my ashtray doesn't stay down! Any ideas on this or do I need to replace the whole ashtray compartment? :headbang:

Have a look at her below, let me know what you think!

Emma

Hi Emma  Looks very tidy! Good on you for getting so much done and planned already. Sound generator mod is so simple, and makes such a difference - could always take both bits of foam out if it isn't loud enough for your ears :poke:

Autoglym roof care isn't bad, fair few of us use that. Renevo kits are rated maybe better by some! How about upgrading the alloys rather than spending money on a refurb? - unless you've got good tyres I guess.

Hi guys,

Thanks for your comments! Couldn't wait to put some pictures up!! :D

The paintwork does look good - the guy that I bought it off was apparently NW and Yorkshire Porsche Owners Club Concours champion?! I think I got myself a bargain!

Also forgot to put in original post I did do my stubby after these piccies were taken! That's the first thing I did after reading about it on here and it looks so much better now!

I'm going to look into the roof treatment and the scuff master! Thanks for the advice - always welcome to help me maintain the car and make it better! :driving:

Emma

Welcome.

Mr. Essex is quoting a little on the dear side for a refurb. I just had a set acid dipped and powder coated for £200 and it wasn't a 'you get what you pay for' job either.

But I agree on some bigger wheels. :P

Hi Emj car looks great so much tidier than mine :( everything JE has said is about right. But he can't help spend his own cash! I would assume he could spend yours quicker!!

Welcome along nice to have an Emma amongst the Bobs Mikes johns and Mats on hear!!

Mat enjoy :driving: that great car

Hi Emma, great looking Zed  I would suggest looking at getting a set of 18" BMW 108 split rims, you might get a set in need of refurb for £50 a rim, they would look really nice and keep it "original" looking? Also I would change the gear knob for a BMW ZHP, or ask Machine Monkey if he will make you one of his all Aluminium ones, they are brill! And finally ...... Just drive it and have fun, the're a great car and welcome to the forum :driving:

Well thanks to you guys, I've already been looking for new alloys! I knew this was a bad idea, bless her and her little 17"s...

I need to get the other bits sorted first like the badges. Can't seem to find a replacement side indicator badge though? Mine is awful on the passenger side and it really bugs me because I think it lets the car down! :(

And need to replace bonnet badge. You guys have any ideas about the ashtray not staying down and what I need to change/fix together it rectified?

Thanks for the welcomes so far to the Z4 family!

Jonny your car has much more cash... Than blood flesh and spanner rash! Good work though mate

Em 18"s are good look great and have right amount of driving enjoyment. I put 19" wheels on mine and have spent loads on suspension since trying to fix it :headbang: if you want a MM knob  production will start soon.

Emma, best place to get an ashtray would be fleabay, although this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Z4-E85-2003-2008-ASHTRAY-UNIT-FRONT-BLACK/151118937171pt=UK_Car_Interior_Accessories&hash=item232f63fc53
At £45 seems a little steep to me :o might be worth bidding him less or just keep checking on eBay as I am sure some will appear soon.

Link broke, try this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Z4-E85-2003-2008-ASHTRAY-UNIT-FRONT-BLACK-/151118937171?pt=UK_Car_Interior_Accessories&hash=item232f63fc53

Jasper - thanks for the link, I think I'll keep on eye on that one and have a cheeky look elsewhere too

That was the question I was dreading!...

Ready? :!:

I passed my car test in March this year (late bloomer - 23!!) and I had a Ford KA - luxury ill have you know!

So only had the KA for a year and decided to go "balls out the bath" and get myself a 3ltr Zed!!

Can you tell I've got 2 older brothers with cool cars growing up??

Emma

You're a quick mover!! At least you got used to some power with the KA first  How's the insurance panned out if you've not been passed long?
