Hello All,
I am a new member, a 40 something from Essex, working in the city.
I do very few miles (less than 7k) in my main car (a 2013 Audi A4 - I had two BMW 3 series before this so no flaming the Audi owner please
) as i commute into the city by train. However I am now looking for an inexpensive Z4 to bring some joy back into weekend driving. As it is a weekend only car I'm looking at spending no more than £4k (the wife is insistent on that which is surprising as she normally can shop for England and never considers the cost!) and I really want a 2.5 or, ideally a 3.0.
I want something in good condition, something around 2003 or 2004, (I appreciate an 11 year old car will not be perfect at all!) and ideally lower than average mileage with red or tan\cream leather seats rather than the common black leather which I have in my car now and the previous 2 three series. I'm not looking for a car full of gadgets either (I have that in the Audi) but rather a drivers car which I can have some fun in and be proud of.
I appreciate i may have to compromise so thoughts on that are very welcome.
Any advice or suggestions on what to look out for (or if you can recommend a car) would be very welcome. I don't mind travelling anywhere in the UK to collect the right car.
I have already spotted the buyers checklist (http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21281) which is very useful for a novice like me.
I look forward to joining the Z4 owners club very soon!
