Just wanted to say hi as a newbie, a ex mazda mx5 owner now on the look out for a Z4. Budget 8.5k not sure which one to go for a 2.5 or a 3.0 Does the forum have any buying guides for the virgins amongst us? Did think about a Boxster but for the budget I have the Z4 will give me a newer car and if I take my time a better spec. Lots of good information on the site will read all I can

My purchase will be my weekend car as my daily hack is a Ford Focus which trundles me up and down the M5 each day from Weston Super Mare to Taunton

Hi exmazdamx5..

Used to have a mk 2.5 myself for a couple of years ..

AlanJ has a Buyers guide on his signature which is an excellent start...http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=21281

Your budget and choice is exactly what i was looking at back in April of this year ended up spending a little bit more than originally planned ( Isn't it always the way) and went for a 3.0.

I would say look at both 2.5 and 3.0 and choose the one you like the condition of... on runs there does not seem to be much between them.

Thanks Zermatt thats a good start would like a 3.0 but a 2.5 will suffice as long as it has a good spec

Welcome to the Z4-forum :) Happy trails :driving:

Good luck with the find, just don't get the Turbo, some issues with the HPFP also stick to 18" wheels some issues with 19" wheels equipped with RFT (wheels cracking when going over bumps and potholes, mostly on the rear wheels).
