Evening all,
I've been lurking on here for a few weeks so decided its time I introduced myself properly.
I've just bought a 54 plate Z4 2.2 SE with 63k miles on the clock. It was purchased from a local Renault dealer who had taken it in as a part ex vehicle.
The car is a "weekend toy" and will replace my 52 plate Toyota MR2 which had started to feel its 103k miles.
The only work I've done so far on the car is a good few hours of paint correction with my Kestrel DAS6 dual action polisher. Im really happy with the results - I think the colour suits the car and has a lot more depth to it now.
By the way the Renault dealer described the colour as azure blue but from what I can see on here the official name is Maldives Blue - can anyone confirm please.
The next plan is a full bare metal refurb of the alloys (which are 135s or MV2s if I've done my research correctly!). I'm thinking of shadow chrome / smoked chrome which I've read about on here and seen on Mangozac's car - http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=31140&start=30. Comments / opionions or other suggestions welcome.
Has anyone used Alloy Wheels Refurbished in Bury, or got other recommendations for alloy wheel refurb companies in the north Manchester / Lancashire area?
Anyway enough of my ramblings for now - here's a few pics...
I'm impressed so far with this forum - there seems to be a lot of useful info on here and a good community atmosphere so I'm sure I'll be popping on regularly. I'll try to make use of the search function and avoid too many dumb questions!
I've spent quite a bit of time on the Skoda forum (http://www.briskoda.net) in the past so hello to anyone that knows me from there. In fact my daily driver is still a Skoda....
