I have returned to the joy of Z4 ownership!
This car was posted on Pistonheads and within an hour I had bought it. I have been looking for a long time for everything from a Z4M to an Alpina to a 3.0i as they all have their merits and constraints. This one popped up, the owner was knowledgeable and I had a good feeling after discussing on the phone. I wanted to go straight over to see it as I have lost out recently on a few cars.
The spec has almost everything I wanted (except M Sport seats and Parking Sensors), at the right price and with a good history (BMW Main Dealer until 2012). It comes with updated sat nav, cruise control, heated seats, xenons and folding wing mirrors as the main extras along with extended storage and a stubby. It has Bridgestone Potenzas all round, in good condition with loads of tread and, although RFT, are bearable for now. The roof motor is also being replaced which is good news. Rear springs etc have been done reasonably recently
I negotiated the fact that the alloys could use a refurb (not bad but you want things to be right) and the tax was looming. The number plate and roof motor are being sorted next week so I pick it up in 10 days or so.
I have always shied away from red leather but it actually works really well with the car.
First jobs will be a really good clean, I may even get it professionally detailed, and to sort the alloys - but first to get some miles on it!
