Made the long trip north to Newcastle today to pick up the above. It's everything I expected and more. Can't believe the acceleration across such a wide range and so effortless. Had a blast on some B roads and while its not as much point and shoot as my (now sold) VX, the power you can put down on exiting corners is scary.

Sitting in the garage now (the car not me) but I'll give it a clean and post some pics.
 
:driving: its good fun though isnt it?! Congratulations and look forward to seeing the pictures of it (not you) sitting in the garage :thumbsup:

It's interlagos blue with black napa leather with the carbon effect dash. It's quite well speced with sat nav, upgraded stereo, 6 cd changer and extended storage (whatever that is?) It's exactly what I wanted apart from cruise control. It's a '56 reg with 17,000 miles. It was used as a weekend car by the only previous owner and that's how I intend to use it.

I'll be out in it tomorrow afternoon (other son's playing football in the morning) probably around some interesting roads in the Peak District.

Can't wait.

And BMW direct was selling a retrofit kit on fleabay last week...

From past forum posts I took it that on the ///M the cruise was not a straight forward retro fit...

Me too, I thought there were only a few indys that would do it due to having to cut into the wiring loom??

I'd really like it on mine if it's an easy fix .
 
Hi Mrbodger! I joined this Forum a few weeks ago after buying my Z4 2.2i SE Roadster. It certainly seems a very friendly place and very helpful and I intend to stay. I hope you continue to enjoy your Z, though I must say I made a conscious decision to buy a convertible and would probably have wanted to take the tin opener to a coupe.

I did the cruise retrofit last weekend and it certainly was very easy in my case. Taking the recommendations on the forum I phoned Sopers in Lincoln and mentioned the forum. They gave me a 10% discount off the cost of the switch, which was all I needed, and it was delivered within a couple of days. If you look on the forum you will find advice on doing it. It may be your car needs more than the switch and it may not be quite so simple.
