New Z4C owner with a massive smile!

Just a random update. I've got my V5 and have checked my VIN online and both just class my car as a 3.0 Si Coupe and don't specify Sport or SE. The spec comes back with all the sport add ons (seats, steering wheel, suspension) and the anthracite headlining.

Interestingly on the VIN database under 'Power' it states '199'. Does anybody know what this relates to? Presumably not BHP as that is 264 isn't it?

Cheers,

Gaz

It's definitely 265 hp, which equates to 195kW - not sure what 199 is saying?
(The Vin wont specify the Sport or SE)

Honestly this confused me a bit as well, there are multiple different figures out there for the engine output, I have seen 255HP on what appeared to be the BMW Owners Manual while looking at Wikipedia it has 261HP and on this site CLICKY it lists the engine as 265.6HP!!

I suspect that either way there seems to be some mix up of measurement here,

1 Brake Horse Power = 1.014 Horse Power or 0.746kiloWatts

Looking at it, the most likely situation is that the 265.6 (266) HP figure has been used but the unit that has been used is BHP rather than HP which equates to a bit over 198kW :paper:

The 255 hp figure is the American Z4 which for some reason has a lower power output.
You're right about the BHP vs HP figures - 261 and 265, bit confusing.

They arent used to getting such high power from less than 12000cc engine :P :P

That does clear it up a bit though!

This should make things clearer:

Fantastic, thanks for clearing this up, guys. It's awesome how much knowledge this forum has, collectively, when it comes to cars and especially the Z4.
