I know it's not going to be an E89,but posted in this section anyway, haha.

The new z4 will be on display at Pebble Beach, California in August this year and looks rather nice in this weeks Auto Express.
Apparently it's officially going to be a Softop,to be lighter and more focused than the E89,harking back to the philosophy of the E85.

And unlike the E89,"there will be an M version, within aprox 12months of Launch, which is more than likely going to feature M2/M4 running gear etc and the engine from the M2 also, with between 365 & 390 bhp :D

Yes please

From what I have read it wont be a true M so to speak. Ie like the M135i. Its called something along the lines of M40i iirc

Certainly won't be hurting Z4M values then, not even a proper ///M :poke:

Yeah, some info says it will be an M model,i.e M40,etc with between 365 & 395 bhp, where other articles say there will be a true M version, with "upto 450bho". Hope they do both, and certainly a proper M car.450bhp would be awesome

If they can design a pleasing front as well as back (bit like the 6 series), then it could be a winner. And a manual of course ...

The E89 was a design disaster at the rear end, and the lack of an M was another weak point.

Those mock up pics look great, let's hope it looks very much like that, very very nice.

Yes,let's hope so.
The car is using i3 and i8 construction architecture, apparently,so should be good from the ground up.
The z4 that was in this weeks autoexpress does look very nice, and the pics came from BMW,as car is due at present launch events in August......I like the look of the pics ,so here's hoping

Look forward to seeing the actual pics from Pebble beach in due course :D

Looks close to the teaser image.

Yeah,it looks very nice indeed, and this "concept" is 80-90% production ready.
