Hi

I'm in my second month of Z4 ownership, bought an 03 2.5ltr sterling grey and loving every minute!

As we are heading for what I'm sure will be a very warm summer of much roof down action, i'm looking to buy a wind deflector. Had a couple of trips out with roof down so far and reckon its a must buy purchase?

I've seen quite a few of the clip in honeycomp / mesh versions on ebay, but none come with the the brackets for fitting to the roll bars. My 03 model doesn't have any brackets in place, do the later models come with these? I'm told by BMW that they are not sold separately, so to buy the whole thing from BMW is quoted at circa £150. Not too bad.

Has anyone from the UK bought one of these? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-...95822QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD2V#ShippingPayment

Its the plexiglass version that is made in the US. Perhaps i should just put my hand in my pocket and buy the real deal? Any words of wisdom?

I retro fitted the BMW OEM, £150, but you will need to replace roll bar covers, and I'm not sure of the cost for them as I got the dealer to do a deal on the lot when I bought the car.

Just dont by the BMW leather over the roll bar one, look like bondage gear to me and an after thought. (IMO)

NOOO...don't get that ebay one. It's heinous! I had the BMW OEM one but had to get this one. I keep it on permanently as it looks so good.

I hadn't come across that website. the clear one looks the buisness. makes the ebay one look like the afterthought it is!

will try to see if they ship to the UK.

cheers guys.

Everyone speaks highly of the clear one. I have the OEM mesh that slots into the roll bars and I really like it, but it came with the car so no decision for me.

Upside of the mesh is it unclips and locks inside the boot
Downside it reduces rear visibility as it's black mesh

Def stay away from those horrible Ebay velcro taped on jobs

I feel silly tonight after hours of shoveling snow  but I would say that the best wind deflector is a coupe. :)

I got my Z in February.. it has the OEM mesh wind deflector but I haven't used it much yet. It definitely reduces the amount of air coming into the cabin and buzzing around your shoulders but, to me anyway, it feels like it makes the air flow concentrate on your head instead, so I am not totally convinced that I like it yet! Hopefully the weather gets better soon and I can give it a proper try...

I have a strange vibration on my OEM one on the left piece of perspex behind the passengers seat. I told them when it went in for some warranty work and they said this is normal and there is no way of stopping it? is this just BS?
