Just joined this forum today , but not new to forums or BMWs ..... Over the past few years I have had a few different BMWs , the best ones I have had was during the past year and a half..
I had a 1M and that was an amazing car , but my family were growing so we needed a bigger car ... I was in the wrong place at the wrong time and came out the dealers with a brand new M5... This was totally the wrong thing to do coming from the size of a 1M to an M5 it just felt huge... Don't get me wrong the car was amazing had everything you cold think of but just was not for me. I kept this car for approx 4 month and just could not get used to it , so it had to go.
I currently have the new M3 one of the first ones to come out and this is only 10 month old , but it don't get used very much as my wife has an X4.. So this brings me on to the new car.....
Hopefully some time this week I will be picking up a new 3.5is Z4 in black , we decided that there was no use for 2 big cars in the family and I wanted a 2 seater as there is now only me an my wife in the car as the boys are growing up and don't really want to be with us...
Would love to know from other people that has the 3.5is as to what it is like?? Think it's the same engine as what was in my 1M

Thanks
Tony.

Hi Tony, where are you based out of interest?

I have had a new 35is in black for 5wks now after an E85 3.0si and a Z4M roady, just IMO, others will disagree, but the 35 is the nicest, not to slate the E85's they are great but the 35is is for me a brilliant mix of sports car and cruiser, the interior is way nicer and I prefer the looks as well. As you've had a 1m you'll know how much grunt it has, the DCT box is superb, it handles very very well and tbh I think it handles as well as the M did. Personally I find it just right, it does rapid car and cruiser in equal measures, but it's not as sharp a focussed car like a Boxster is. At the moment I don't regret buying it.

Hope you enjoy your's when it arrives and pics asap if you will please.

Oh and I forgot the exhaust, it sounds brilliant, nice deep burble on tick over and slow driving, but then it barks, pops and bangs on gear change and overrun when pressing on a bit, it's a bit addictive!

Hi.. I am in the North east in Durham.... Yes looking forward to getting it something totally different to what I have had... It will be nice to see how the DCT pairs up with the engine as it is great in the M3 ..
I have told the garage as I do all ways not to clean the car as I like to detail it my self... Over the past I have had them professionally done but at £500 a pop it gets a bit expensive when I have only kept the car a few month haha..
But as soon as I have it and it is clean the pics will be up...

Just a quick question it comes with silver grilles, mirrors and side markers... Do anyone know where to get black ones from or wanting to do a swap?? I will be going for the bat mobile look ..... Haha
