Hi I wonder if anyone else has experienced the following. On Friday I had my windscreen replaced, by Sunday my battery was struggling, having never missed a beat till then. I fully charged overnight and on Monday morning having didconnected the battery charger it was flat within 30 mins. I jump started it on Monday afternoon and it started first time. I took it to the garage and we attatched a battery tester to the battery while the engine was running, it registered 15 amps and battery was good. Turning off the ignition the amps began to fall and reached 11.25 within 2 mins. When I got home I removed two fuses from the glove box, firstly the automatic wiper fuse and the washer wipe fuse both I associated with the windscreen area and surprise surprise after leaving it overnight it started first thing the next morning.
After much conversation with the insurance company and the windscreen fitting company they sent an engineer out, who looked at the fitted screen and said, nothing we have done caused the issue.
I am now expecting an e,extricated engineer to look at the car tomorrow to help diagnose where within the two sets of wires the fault is, but unless I am really unlucky it seems strange that guessing the obvious areas where the engineer may have been identified and stopped the "bleed".
Any experience would be greatly received.
