New Window Regulator

Two hour job plus the window regulator means I'm £348 worse off tonight!

It did take 4 hours and the drivers side regulator somehow managed to cause an error on the passenger side airbag that seemed to take a while for them to rectify.

BMW also told me that there's a bulge in the front passenger side tyre. Had this checked at the local tyre place who have all the Hunter equipment.

Quote form the tyre place with the Hunter equipment, "They're talking pish!"

So don't need to get a new tyre at all.
 
Sounds about right for stealer prices. I always go to a specialist if something needs doing. Isn't a brand new regulator from bmw over £200 anyway?
 
Was quoted £189 including VAT and they also replaced the membrane as part of the cost as it was either damaged taking the door car off or wouldn't go back on.

Health check on the car too and everything ok.

Will keep that in mind for the passenger side when that fails.

I've had two Z4's. Drivers door window regulator and rear springs failed on both of them. All replaced obviously. It's features of the cars!

I think the oem ones use mild steel cable, it rusts and chews up the pulleys. Stainless replacement and new pulleys should be good for a while.

As for rear springs, had a 2.0 facelift in this week, 50k on it, one rear 3 spring had snapped at the top AND the bottom, and she'd had them replaced about 3 years ago.. I replaced both with Sachs, so should be good for a while.
