New Wheels - update

For a while now I've fancied changing my wheels and have been looking for some AC Schnitzer type III or IVs. Well I just won these on ebay - refurbished in gunmetal grey - 18 x 8.5.

Hoping to get them on by the weekend. I could be parting with my 108s.

In the meantime this photo will have to do.

Hi Colin - I think they suit some models very well for example the E36 - i really wanted some when i had my 318tds...

However the jury is still out for me - untill i see them on the car at least - properly!!!

 for something different!!

Thanks Jamie - I know they're not to everyone's taste but I like the open, clean and uncluttered lines. I'll get some decent photos up once I get them installed - and that means washing the car again. :D

I had been thinking about this as they are a cost effective option and look good on black coupes, look forward to actual pics on your car!

Picked the wheels up today and they do look good but ..... I can't fit them yet. :headbang:

Apparently AC Schnitzer wheels come with an 82mm bore and need adapter spacers or spigot rings to get the bore down to what we need which is 72.6mm. My wheels came with 7mm adapter spacers which unfortunately push the front wheels just that bit too far out (17mm). I've emailed Rossiters, the ACS UK stockist, to get some spigot rings so I'll just have to wait. :(

The trouble is I'm not around much for the next 3 weeks or so and then I go out to Afghanistan for 3 months. I'll try and get them fitted, with photos, before I go.

Thanks - I'll see what the ACS ones are like. I don't like the idea of plastic either. I think I can get away with the spacers on the rear and spigots on the front.

If you need some spigot rings making up let me know. I wouldn't use plastic ones!
Still waiting on Rossiter's getting back to me but in the mean time I got some cheap plastic ones off fleabay. If they fit OK (wheels are currently being refurbed as on closer inspection I didn't like the finish) I'll send you one and ask if you could make a couple of metal ones for me.
