I have mv3 style wheels on 335i and that car has given me sleeplers nights. Worst car I've ever owned.

For that reason I vote csl's

You go with what you like mate but RE the widths you would barely notice any difference but would be far better with comfort & visually with slightly more on the wall
Se cars on 18s with 35 profile rears can look hellish gappy around the arches imo

Can't see that much difference TBH, more worried about an under reading speedo as I tend to set cruise to 85mph on the motorway, which equates to just under 84mph via GPS, crucially 1mph under the ACPO guidelines for a prosecution

You can throw numbers into as many online calc sites as you like but from past experience a 18inch 8.5 rim with a 255 35 profile tyre will always look gappy on a se car & even on a Sport can easily stand to raise the numbers to what the ZMs run of 255 40 & 225 45
As for the speedo , ive changed wheels & tyres on countless cars of all makes & only when fitted & driven against a GPS satnav will you get a true accurate reading as all manufacturers set their speedos at varying tolerances

My current Z has gone from OEM 18s to 19s yet ive kept the profiles the same so 255 35 19rear/ 235 40 fronts for increased comfort & reduced arch gap , the speedo is now more accurate than it was on OEM set up :wink:

If you fit what you like you can't have any complaints

& same car / same springs with standard 108 on 255 35 rubber

Gonna give the 108's another chance, as I do like the look of them. Gonna give City Powdercoaters a try in Birmingham, £40 per wheel, same day including removal and refitting from car and tyres taken off, refitted and balanced..

Yes they will split, and if the quality is not good, they'll be doing them twice. Having seen other posts from people who have used them though, I'm not unduly worried.

Look forward to seeing the end results. Mine need doing badly but I live quite a long way from Birmingham. Would be worth the travel at that price!

" IF "all 80 bolts play nicely its a 2 hour job for 1 man to split the 4 wheels , followed by a similar time to rebolt the 4
Throw in some tyres off / tyres on + balance & that doesn't leave a lot of time to strip , blast & powdercoat the rims & stars :?

It's actually only £20 if you supply just the rims, the £40 is for them being on the car plus same day...

Time will tell, but hoping to get there next weekend..

Good choice.
No way £40 I'm afraid. Ask what they'll be doing for that.

I paid £600 at Lepsons Inc vat just to give you an idea, and that unfortunately didn't even include new titanium bolts, although I was tempted.
