Hi, i just bought Ally's 108's (thanks Ally)

They arrived today to Ireland and i fitted them straight away... I am not sure if i like them yet or not (defo don't like been back on runflats :( ). I also think there is too much of a gap between the arch and the wheels on the rear (i really don't want to lower my car either) but i do like the style of the wheels :D

I have two questions which i hope someone can help me out. There are Bridgestone Potenza RE050A run-flats on the 108s.

1. Can you advise as to what i should set the tyre pressure to for these
- Fronts: 225/40/R18 88W
- Rears: 255/35/R18 90W

2. I also need to replace the bmw center caps all round. They are in perfect condition on my old wheels, can these be removed easily and fitted to my 108s... is there a certain way to remove them

I'd be surprised about the arch gap - on a 3.0 (same as me) you'll already be on the sport suspension which is -15mm lower than non-sport suspensioned Z4s. My 3.0 is fitted with Eibach Pro springs which lower the car another 15mm, so that's always an option if you want to go lower.

Z4 3.0, sport suspension, 108s:

IIRC the pressures are something like 33f/36r psi, but I ran them at 32f/34r psi when I was on runflats. I've got a feeling all tyres were inflated to 32psi before I mailed them though, just because I was messing around with my new pressure gauge and compressor :oops:
 
Cool, thanks Ally, do you know if it is possible to swap the center caps on these... i don't want to pull at them incase i brake them so i would like to hear how others have removed / fitted them, thanks,

The center caps can be removed easily if you have the wheels off the car, just push them from the backside. If you can't access the rear of the wheel take a pocket knife and CAREFULLY insert the blade under the cap and pull it forward. Should take at least 5 seconds per cap.
 
if you are replacing the centre caps you can get the new style ones with the chrome edge rings look so much better, personally i would only push them out from behind to prevent any damage to the wheel
 
Oops, forgot about that part. Just what the folks above say - easiest if you push them out from behind, but as long as you're careful with a pointed knife then you should be able to prise them off from the front.
 
If you want to avoid using a knife, then a blob of bluetack or even better a suction cup stuck on and pulled away quickly will pluck them out.
 
Thanks CJ, i will be taking off the center caps from my old wheels, which are obviously now off the car so i will be able to push them out from the back. I don't care about the ones that are on the car (the 108's) so i will just take them out whatever way i can without damaging the wheel.

Does anyone know the name of the wheels that were on the car that used to be at the top of the z4-forum site (before the cartoon car)... just wondering what my old wheels are called as i don't see them on many Z4's

They were style 103 17" alloys. The same as what my car is (still) wearing
 
103s it is, just googled them and got a few pics. I actually liked them on mine so i will definitely hold on to them instead of selling them in case i get sick of the 108s some day... just added tyre dressing to the 108s... think i like them a lot now :oops:
