Quick update. Have now done 500 miles and have put the psi to 34 rear and 32 front. The problem is still there although less apparent than before. I will get the tracking checked next week.
Lower tyre pressures are more likely to accentuate tram lining than high pressures. I inflated mine to 39psi at the rear today and they are so much better at that pressure. They put the power down cleanly and that's what BMW recommend.

I wasn't specifically commenting about tramlining, more about general alignment issues, an over inflated tyre will have far less "give" than a normal one, so toe in/out is accentuated.
