New toy...

Bit of an impromptu ebay purchase turned up yesterday (just in time for the good weather!

A 1978 Alfa Spida Veloce 2000. It's in great nick and although I'm sure it will be temperamental at some point it seems to bring a joy to driving that modern cars just can't.

Hoping to keep my Beemer but it does seem a little extravagent to keep two two seaters!

:D

Ill take some more pics when/if the sun returns. Was beaming this morning when I took it for my first drive. Got all paperwork even the initial sales invoice, price then £5300!

My first car was an Alpha Gulia in same colour... it's saloon brother & used to love these

Wrap it up in blankets ASAP... my old one was rusting away in the 80's

The car looks full of character, would love to see the interior. Very pleased for you mate

I reckon I got it at a bit of a steal just shy of 7k, these cars are on the up in terms of value. Theyre not quite as valuable as the boat tail series ones but because those are soooo expensive people go for the next best thereby increasing values.

In terms of rust as long as you keep on top of it, it should be ok. This has been wax oiled completely although of course that could be hiding a multitude of sins! However considering its a 35 year Italian car it is in very good condition.

Well done!

There is a non runner in ebay same colour and model like yours am half tempted to bid.

What do you think?

Great classic and you're absolutely right, no modern car can capture the feel of driving something like that. Too much interruption nowadays between steering wheel and feeling the road! Enjoy :driving:
