Well if your budget is 10k ,or there about, and you can be patient then you should find something close to what you're after. There's always a compromise - you never get exactly what you want particularly if you have a long list of specifications and a particular body and seat colour combo.
 
how much should I be paying for that exact spec but different interior colour. I don't even mind black interior.

so, I want navi, head seats, elec seats, xenons, manual, m sport, 3.0si. don't mind mileage/owners too much as long as all issues (e.g. the roof) are sorted and its been looked after.
 
You should get a good 3.0si vert for around £8k your buying at the wrong time of year though to grab a bargain :)

Well a lot depends upon mileage of course, if you want low miles then you will have to pay more obviously. The 3.0si Sport is a sort after motor, you have probably realised this already. 7 or 8 k should get you one if you are prepared to travel for it and buy privately, but expect one with average miles 80,000 or thereabouts.
 
might be woth putting an ad up one here for your m3 as well and seeing if anyone would be interested in a swap or similar with a z4 :)
 
I don't mind travelling tbh, not an issue. and I might just wait til after summer and pick one up for a bit cheaper hopefully. I will have more choice then too it think. I don't like to rush into car buying.

don't like the idea of a swap tbh, feels weird. I always go with cash.
