Hi everyone, you all know the drill better than me.
Just purchased an E85 2003 3.0i with the dreaded SMG box, which I absolutely love, although I have been driving it exclusively in flappy paddle mode.
Paid £2,850 for the car on 91k with a great service history but was a bit worried about it. It's tight and bullet proof. Turned into my daily driver instantly and went from 60mpg in a diesel to about 40mpg on my run to work, so long as I can stop myself booting it to hear the noise of that engine, and the downshift.
Got some issues I'm currently sorting, starting with the advisories first but replacing the entire brake line system to kunifer brake pipes with braided hoses in the arches. Swapping out the OEM headlights sorry guys, but fixing new lenses looks like so much hassle when I can fit new black angel eyes to match the motor. Also some cosmetics like the tatty gear nob for a weighted one, cup holder, new badge and more that I'm sure I will find. The hood won't fold all the way down, and the wipers don't work on intermittent like most others, but I'll find a fix in the threads on here, and in the meantime I'm smiling from ear-to-ear every time I drive her.
Next summer will be wheel refurb, although they aren't terrible, and maybe a stage 1, but I love the natural sound and the way she pulls so I won't be messing around too much.
I'll post some pics on Saturday when I start working on her.
