New (to me) Z4 Coupe

Hello everybody,

Delighted to say that I have just picked up my new car, a 56 plate Z4C Sport. Previous car was a 225BHP TT Roadster, which was fun, but I'm much happier now.....an extra couple of cylinders make all the difference!

Anyway, only one thing making me scratch my head about the car so far. Didn't know when I bought it, but in the glove box is a lead with an iPod connector. I was pleased to see this, but when i tried it, it didn't seem to be very helpful. Basically I can listen fine, but can only advance one song at a time. A pain when you're trying to get to an album from an artist starting with 'R' for example. Takes ages. Am I being dense? Is there a way of flicking forward by album or playlist at all?

Thanks in advance of any help.

Steve.

Pics please!!

If it is the BMW Adaptor then you can have up to 5 playlists titled BMW1, BMW2, ..... BMW5

The CD player buttons from 1-5 go through the lists. It you hit 6 then it plays the whole iPod.

If you hit SEL you can pick "random" etc.

You cannot choose by artist, song, type of music etc.

Your amongst friends here…..Welcome to the forum from this side of the rainbow. :)

Hi Steve99

Welcome to the forum.

I've got the official BMW ipod adaptor c/w the Business CD head unit.

You do need to create playlists as enfield said. The playlist MUST be as follows:-
BMW1
BMW2
through to BMW5

Please note that the BMW must be in capitals and there must not be a space between the W and the 1. You can add any text to the replay list eg "BMW1 80s music"

You can randomly play the tracks in your playlist. The shuffle type ie songs or albums is decided by your ipod settings. The RND button on the head unit turns this shuffle on or off.

You can also jump tracks in blocks of 10 by pressing and holding the arrow key e.g. from track 14 to 24

Finally, you can press the SC key and the first 10 seconds of each track will be played in sequence. To end the scan and play press the SC key again.

My scanner is playing up, :( so i'll scan the manual tomorrow at work. If you pm me I'll send you a copy of the manual. If I knew how to host it properly ,I'd post it on line so if someone wants to volunteer to host it I'll send them the pdf too. There's really no more information that what I've said in this post

Good luck and don't forget the photos :D
