New (to me anyway) e85 3.0si engine noise

Just bought it a couple of days ago, this was filmed in the evening and reasonably cold, just wandering if this is normal engine noise.

Not hugely experienced but it sounds a bit like the timing chain is knocking against the guides? That or the lifter tick (which isn't harmful I've heard?) Please correct me :D

Have you tried depressing the clutch? Sounds a little bit like the common flywheel rattle on these cars perhaps.

Agreed , engine sounds about right , the other noise does sound like it would alter if you dipped the clutch , if so i wouldn't worry too much , i had a Si a while back with similar & my indy said it could have been that way for 30k & could still be that way after another 30k

I noticed a similar sound coming from my Z4 3.0i. It is most noticeable from the right front wheel arch.

Did you manage to confirm it was the flywheel or find out what it is? :?

Thanks for the responses guys, guess I'll leave it for now.
Sorry Deejac, going to play the wait and see game. After playing chase the sound on my Mini r56 I'm burnt out :D

Nothing to worry about - these N52 engines sound like that on tick over. It should go quieter after a long run, but when cold or when covering short journeys then it ticks way like that.
