New starter motor

My starter motor is dead. Mechanic says it takes 4 hours to change it and that the intake manifold must be removed.
Yes?

Believe some have done it blind - I changed mine when I had the manifold off for the CCV and it was OK but tight to get a torque wrench on the ali bolt for the starter.
 
It took my dad about 30 minutes to replace mine. He had never tried doing it before either. Just remove the air filter and pipework and you're able to access it from the engine bay.

Maybe the N52 is different, but I can't see how being 3 and a half hours worth of different :lol:
