New shoes and rubber on the M

Well, I decided that running semi slicks on the road wasn't working, especially in these current temps. It was great fun but meant that you couldn't go for a good early morning run. So anyway i decided it was time to retire the 224s and semi slicks from the road and use purely for trackdays and buy a new set of wheels and tyres. After a deal falling through for a set of Apex Arc-8s I decided to go for the old, massively overdone CSL route. I wasn't wanting to go for 19" so had to go with reps. I got them from BM Autosport. 18x8.5xET35 up front and 18x9.5xET20 at the rear. I went with Goodyear Eagle F1 ASYM 2's, as I didn't want to have huge sidewalls like I would have got with MPSS. 265/35/18 and 235/40/18.

I'm pretty chuffed with the result. The offsets are pretty much bang on perfect for the flush look and its nice to have the fresh look with silver alloys again. The wheels themselves are pretty good. Feel lighter than 224s and have a lovely deep concave on the rear.

Very nice and an option that I have been thinking about as well since I really don't want to run 19" rubber... :driving:

The CSL look might be the default, go to choice, but there is a reason - they look brilliant!

Interesting that you think the wheels lighter

Can't argue with that :)

With regards to weight, I didn't actually weigh them. Next time I have a wheel off I will do it. It just felt a bit lighter when picking the wheel up, but I wouldn't exactly say that's science!
