New Royal wheel but horn stuck on!

As per title, I've just switched all the MFSW bits etc over from my wheel to a new royal retrim and tightened everything up. As soon as I turn the key in the ignition the horn blares continuously!

I've taken it apart 3 times so far. There is a gap at all 3 contacts, the springs seem to be doing their job and the air bag/horn has travel all the way round once it's reconnected.

I'm baffled - has anyone had similar issues or can suggest what else I can check??

I'd pull the wheel off once more and check that you have assembled the horn plate onto the wheel correctly and not created any circuit between the plate and the wheel centre. Sometime since I last had mine off, but that comes to mind and ensuring you've not trapped any of the MFSW looms and created a circuit that way
 
I've temporarily pulled fuse 37 which at least makes it useable.

Massively frustrating - I'll pull it apart and grab any photos I can to see if I can diagnose.

The most frustrating thing is waiting 20 minutes after pulling the battery each time you find out it's still screwed!
 
I've done it so as Cj10jeeper has said take it back off check and reassemble .
 
Just thought I'd update in case anyone ever gets a similar problem again. I FINALLY resolved the issue ahead of my upcoming MOT.

By comparing with my old wheel I finally noticed something was awry. As you can see in the image below, the small metal pole in the upper right portion of the wheel centre is bent and subsequently making constant contact with the horn push metal-work. With a little levering with a screwdriver I had it straightened out and standard functionality has returned. So chuffed I finally worked it out.

Worth checking the wheel you get back from jack to make sure it's straight before fitting.
