New & Proud E85 2.5 Owner

Hi All,

I have been contemplating a Z4 for some time since a mate of mine who noticed I drove mini roadsters and countryman for the last 3 years and I thought the handling was second to none until a mate of mine mentioned to me that the BMW Z4 is the big boys version to the Mini Cooper.

It was my Birthday just before Christmas and I decided to treat myself since living on a tight budget for two years due to just starting my own business. I read all the threads on here and looked for all pitfalls and found one in Torquay with 65k on a 03 plate with full history and a vast amount of receipts.

After inspecting it, the engine sounded beautiful and I could sense the love the car received over the years from its owners. Needless to say the handling and speed was out of this world I preferred it over the mini cooper roadster. A few back and forths over the price and I brought it cash and drove home. I have to point out I was a changed man on return

The car naturally edifies beauty in all aspects and I don't want to do anything to upset that. I want to keep it stock' except buff out a couple of tiny scratches and refurb the wheels when the weather improves. (Sorry if that sounds boring)

I had to move to London last year which made me sell my car due to always being in congestion which being a lad from the Midlands was not use too. I found it easier to catch public transport or ride my bike. So I originally thought it would just be a weekend/Summer car but Low and behold I find an excuse to drive it everyday and its a sheer pleasure the grin of my face only stops when I return home and turn the engine off.

Now I cant wait to meet fellow members who share the same love for the car at your meet ups, let me know lol

Welcome and glad you've caught the Z4 bug..... Now you know what you're going to get asked..... where are the pictures??

Welcome to the forum, sounds like a great Zed you've found yourself. Good luck keeping it 'stock'!

Nice to read your enthusiasm - many of us felt the same when we first encountered and drove our Zeds.
Plenty of passion on this forum - welcome!

hi and welcome they are a great car as you say any excuse to drive it .I don't think you will keep it a stock car for long

Welcome! Sounds like you know what you are doing - great to see someone not afraid to travel to find a decent example. Whereabouts in London are you now?

It doesn't sounds boring but it does sound impossible. Lots of small things you can do (and one big one - non-runflats!) which I bet you will succumb to. :D

Hi and welcome.

You sound as though you have truly caught the Zed bug. Indeed, it could be that you have been imagining all of this, so we need photographic evidence.

Enjoy :driving:

Hi and welcome Shaun.

I've never modded a car like the Z4. It will only be a matter of time. It will start with something cheap and subtle like a stubby and then escalate into upgrading to an ///M

In the mean time

:worthless:

I have been residing in Croydon for the last 9 months but haven't found any good roads to have fun on yet if you have any please let me know
:driving:

Arranging a road trip to Isle of Man in a few weeks I heard its a nice cruise.

I think the bug has started, just purchased a private plate which says 'Heaven'

Not the closest, but try heading to Dorking and then taking the Ranmore Common Road.

I think Bing lives in Kent and drives into London a lot, so he might know some good stuff east of you.
