New Owner saying Hello

Congrats on your red zed! Very nice looking coupe and relatively rare in that color. Good luck with your new car. I think you'll be pleased with the decision.

Welcome! That's a beautiful looking car. I hope it gives you many miles of fun and trouble free motoring

Grrrrr, you hhave set me off now!!!!!! TVRs get in your blood!!!!!

Red Z coupé looks fab. Congrats. After the TVR you'll definitely want some king of exhaust upgrade I suspect though!

Picked it up this morning.. Initial thoughts, It obviously hasn't got the grunt and straight line power of the TVR, but its not slow :). Defiantly handles the corners better, and is generally a LOT more comfortable. It's got a nice engine note but it's a bit quiet :P something to modify later.

I need to work out how to use the Satnav (it's not as simple as expected) and can't seem to pair my phone with it either but I'll investigate this further.

Generally a very nice motor and defiantly more of a daily driver than the TVR which is what I wanted.

Get those pics up! :worthless:

Pairing phones is a royal PIA until you work out button presses and key positions. One "gotcha" that helps is to empty the pairings memory before you try to add one. This fixed all my pairing woes.

Have fun!

I used to have a Griffith 500. Fantastic car when it worked.every time I went out I was always watching the tempature gauge. And all the funny plastic burning smells.had some great tales to tell about that car.loved my Tvr but my z4 is so more user friendly.

The deciding factor for me to get rid of it was last year when I went on a PistonHeads run through western Scotland.. As you can see, it didn't quite go as planned.. This was Day 1, and the end of my weekend.

On the way home I had lost all confidence in the TVR and never really trusted it again.

Ouch, I heard about this on pistonheads! You are on all three communities I am part of! Lovely car, shame it's not as user friendly.

I have had my Z4M for 2years and only replaced tyres, battery or serviced it as per required schedule. Nothing has gone wrong like that!

That was just water ingress into the fuse box, annoying but no permanent damage. The most expensive repair I had was a leaking water pump...

12 hours to remove engine
pallet engine and ship to Blackpool
Rebuild water pump and engine block (water pump is built into the engine block)
ship back to North East
14 hours to refit engine

£2500+

Fantastic car, when it worked.. nightmare when it didn't.
