Hi there and welcome. 
There are plenty of us here that run a shed to work and save the Zed for the weekend. I typically run an 80-100 mile round trip to the surf most weekends and the Zed loves it. Rest of the time I drive a £1500 shed. Zed sits in the garage, handbrake off and roof down. I haven't put it near a trickle charger in 5 years. The battery will go flat after around 3 weeks if the car is not run, due to the tracker. That has occurred twice.
It takes mine around 5-7 miles to warm up this time of year and I won't go past 4k rpm until it is showing 75degs on the temp.
So based on your low daily mileage, my recommend:- by a shed and enjoy your Zed at the weekend.

I got an N52/3.0si a couple of months ago - a fabulous fun car, but, it started this after a couple of weeks. It was a bit of a worry for a few weeks while I did the research you've done. The previous owner was using the car every day for a good distance. It was dealer serviced just a couple of weeks before I bought the car.
Now its being used at most for a couple of days a week for a 50+ mile round trip and some weeks not used except for a short distance. I do have to move it everyday just to shuffle cars around - they're always in the wrong order on the driveway. This clearly isn't helping.
A dose of Wynne's hydraulic valve lifter treatment has quietened it down enormously. I've seen 0W30 recommended too.
Something else to look for that caused me some concern for a few days. When I went to put the treatment in there was some emulsion in the oil filler cap - not a lot, a thin film, and none in the oil, but enough to cause some concern. Thankfully no oil in the water and neither level was dropping. Again, much research showed that short trips and just a few minutes running each day causes atmospheric moisture to get sucked into the oil. It needs to get properly hot for a while to drive off that moisture. Perfectly clear now. A perfect excuse to get out for a drive!

I live on a RAF base and i get the issue if i use my car for short journeys around camp. Ive stopped doing that now and the problem is solved.
Had this for the first time the other day after a couple of short trips, disappeared after about a minute so I'm not overly worried. That and I've not heard of any dying because of it.
Interesting that. Are there specialist garages?
