Hi
First post so hope this is okay.
I bought a Z4 2.0 SE (march 09 ex demo) its just standard spec with the only extra being heated seats. I realise it's not the best spec or engine, but I absolutely love it. (It was supposed to be for my wife, to replace her Mini convertible, but I think I'm claiming it as mine !)

This forum is excellent, and since buying the car two weeks ago, I've read various posts and so far bought a ZHP Gear Knob, Exhaust Trim and ordered a 3" stubby from the U.S.

Howevew, I would appreciate some advice on which wind deflector to get. At present I've got the (not very good) BMW one that pulls over the roll bars. I'm thinking of either an acrylic one or the proper BMW mesh one that requires the roll bar covers replacing. I've been quoted £240 for the complete kit from my local dealer Castle BMW in York) . Not sure if thats a good price or not.

I've tried to post a couple of photos just to show the colour (space grey)
Anyway, look forward to some enjoyable driving and reading more useful and entertaining posts.

Very nice looking Zed and welcome to the forum

Personally I'd go with the OEM version, but it's and expensive retrofit. Agree that the pull over version is not as good.
Run a few forum searches and you'll find lots of opinion and alternatives

Looks nice! Welcome to the forum... much better than the Mini IMO - and a much bigger boot! Wow, that's a dull fact.

Might be worth looking online see if anyone is breaking a Zed (assume a pre face lift would do) with an OEM wind deflector, might not be too hard to take out and refit. Personally I'd hold out for an OEM even if it take a while. But that's just me.

And you really do need to try and claim this as your own... fob the wife of with the Merc!

Some 18"s would TRANSFORM your car: http://images.autoexposure.co.uk/AETA35154/AETV30487267_1b.jpg

Love the 18" wheels and def on the list of wants. I'd also use the opportunity to get rid of the fun flats as I've had experience of them on a mini and a 5 series and I'm not a great fan.

Hi Kubota - and welcome.
Am liking the car - especially the colour, which is the same as mine (so biased, I suppose!!)
There are a few Wind deflectors that come up on E-Bay from time to time at a (more) reasonable price - might be worth a look-see.
Have Fun

Welcome, lovely car and agreed the OEM mesh deflector would be worth waiting for. :D

Oh and if you ever park on THAT hill in the photo remember to park it in gear!

Welcome  as said above check e.bay for Wind Deflector or on here thats where i sold mine.

Pop some 108s on the Z look great with that colour.

Thanks for all the wellcomes.
I've already picked a lot of good info up from this forum (and plenty of temptation to spend more money !!)
The stubby arraived today (about 14 days from ordering which I think is pretty good). My wife thought I was a bit sad as I couldnt wait until tomorrow to fit it, and felt it was essential to go out to the car and fit it at 9.00 when I arraived home. I've never been as excited before by a 3" bit if rubber !!
