Been driving it around and about with the fiancée (she absolutely loves the zed) yesterday amd today. A good mix of dual carriage ways, a roads, b roads and little country lanes (potholes and all!) in wet and dry conditions. The rfts definitely are harsh but not overly so with a little bit of pothole avoidance. The 3 litre motor absolutely sings it's way up the rev range... Like a rocket would be a decent description of the effect. Particularly given our relative lack of performance motoring experience. I did the maths and it's actually supposed to be 13% worse off in power to weight terms than the ecoboost converible Mustang we drove across America in recently. However, even having not yet dared caress the sport button (soon, soon) it certainly doesn't feel like it's giving anything away in real world terms and the noise, wow. Incredible.
One slight worry, and I definitely need many more miles to be sure, maybe getting a slight 'sticky steering' sensation at moderate speeds some of the time. Will look at getting the UJ's greased when I have the drive belt re-torsioned soon.
All in all though, I'm, we're I should say, so thrilled and proud to have such an awesome machine.
