New Owner findings so far...

So I bought my phoenix yellow 2.5si about three weeks ago, so I thought I would give you my findings/musings so far, in no particular order!

Fuel economy approx. 27-29mpg which is slightly lower than I expected;
Roof down motoring is fantastic - drive with roof down unless it's raining! :driving:
Seatbelt cuts into my neck - luckily I wear a shirt for work, so collar helps!
Runflats not as bad as I have read - though I can feel tramlining on certain roads - will change to non runflats as tyres wear...
Suspension is low enough, but find myself constantly looking at eibachs - I think they will be my 1st mod!
I love the colour - never seen another PY in my travels so far - I like that :D
The standard wind deflector doesn't seem to make much difference - that I can feel anyway!
Heater is great...
Sport button 'ON' is my default setting
I find myself switching the traction control off more often than not
108 style alloys really look the part, especially when clean;
Had lots of positive comments so far, no negatives (that I've heard...)
People think I have suddenly become rich - they appear shocked when I tell them it was cheaper than their eg ford KA :D
I love second gear... :thumbsup:
Sometimes I find 1st and reverse to easy to mix up? Maybe just me getting used to it;
Basic stereo isn't great, but I can live with for now, cant really hear when roof down anyway!
Boot plenty big enough for weeks shop( me and wife and four kids worth!)

All in, I am well pleased with the Zed so far - it feels special every time I drive it - the ride is similar to the Focur RS I had, in the sense that you 'feel' the road - you hold the wheel with both hands all the time,as if you really are 'driving'...

Great car!

Would've liked a 3.0 or ///M mind... :evil:

Surprised you are selecting reverse instead of first. Selecting reverse takes some effort.

Have you posted pics yet?

Well you got one thing right for sure the Zed is indeed very special. you meet guys with Lambos and Fezas and they all like the Zed, :D As for second it scares me, :lol: I generally need to be in third before I floor it. :driving:

Yes, whenever I get in mine and fire it up it feels like a special occasion! :D

Had to work today, but as I knew I wouldn't be sat in traffic I took the Z4 - lovely quiet roads at 8.30!

2nd is wonderful - got a bit carried away overtaking an ST Fiesta this morning and touched the rev limiter (or maybe allegedly that was in 3rd - I'm too old to remember)! But it was a great way to start the day anyway.

I'm still getting the right side of 30 mpg, despite my best efforts - is the Coupe better aerodynamically maybe? Or is it more to do with my frequent use of the M3 between Camberley and the M25 with the 50 average cameras maybe?

My Z4 has the Professional Hi-Fi speaker System with 10 speakers and 430w so stereo is fine, although I prefer listening to the sound generator, but my E46 daily has the standard BMW installation and it is nothing special. TBH I would prefer the upgraded system in the E46 - may have to just upgrade that one as well!

Just keep enjoying Z4 ownership! :thumbsup:
