New Mr 12 Volt MMI car play / android auto about to be released for the E89

Thanks for responding, appreciated. You say all have basic Bluetooth. What exactly should I have on my car? When I connect Bluetooth it shows as "BlueMusic+" and on the screen I have to select "external device". I had assumed this was aftermarket and had been installed such that it used the aux in option as the aux in socket under the armrest doesn't seem to work. Is BlueMusic+ what all e89s show as the Bluetooth connection or does it come up with a different name?

I might have found a 2010 E89 23i Manual to buy today...

No iDrive, here's the dash...

What would one of Mr12Volt's screens do for me? Does it have its own retro-fit pseudo iDrive conroller? Just treat me kine a dummy on this subject please!

Car seller (private) says he plugs his phone into the centre console Aux to get Spotify etc. Would that simple solution also give me Google Maps sound through the car speakers?

I have iDrive in my '21 X1 so I'll have none of that tech in the E89, but then I use prefer to use Google maps on my phone in the X1 and can't get it to play through the speakers, so I'm kinda used to that, albeit I won't be able to hear the phone sound with the roof down!

Thanks all.

The Mr12volt is not a screen it’s a multi Media Interface that fits into the cars canbus system, it’s possible to fit a OEM screen and controller but it’s not just plug and play, alternatively you can just fit an android screen and pair your phone to that, if you just want to use your phone for Google maps then I think you would get the sound through the speakers, but it’s dependent on the hat media options it was built with.
