New Mr 12 Volt MMI car play / android auto about to be released for the E89

Interesting, the only real issue I have is the OEM mic with Mr12volt. Though an adjustable mic might mean when using their own? Wonder if it will be at the same price. For new buyers this would be great upgrade over the og

P3000 versions replace current P2000 versions..View attachment 291560
I love the complete lack of ability to quantify the features on the P2000.

Personally, I would see absolutely zero reason to upgrade. Not sure how trustworthy the audio quality claims of "even better" are. Sure, the DSP may have more resolution and adjustment, but the MOST interface will be receiving a maximum of 44.1/16. Surely that's what the P2000 is delivering, otherwise the OEM CD changer interface would have issues.

Well I wouldn't upgrade and the supplier hasn't issued any details..its immaterial as the old version is now run out so its only the new one for anyone buying ..

I assume they've just broken out more discrete volume controls for each function..

Currently, on their website, the CIC version is still the Grey P2000 version, the new Lime Green P3000 is not yet available for CIC or NBT only the CCC version is available for BMW's.

CIC is out of stock..cleared the decks for the new one..so sooner or later!

Time will tell if it's an improvement.
Watch their videos on installation and setup for the other BMW ones that are available and none of them show the "Selectable UI Themes", which would be the only visual difference, but would imagine that to be a change to the box settings page only, so not much help.

The NEW Lime Green P3000 box for the E Series CIC iDrive is now available....

This is interesting though....

If no factory CD changer is fitted, no coding is required.

I see they've also gone back to the iDrive controller connection instead of the Quadlock connector at the rear of the headunit. Much better, not having to squeeze aal that wire and connectors behind the headunit and will mean you wont have a block on headunit coding which the old method created.

Yes, this is the way the original box was fitted and it worked perfectly. And happens to be the way my new box is fitted, because I used my original lead ;)
