New member looking to buy coupe

Hi there,

I've been looking for a new car for a while now and want something fast and fun. I currently own a mk4 Golf 25th anniversary GTTDi with all the trimmings but it's time to let that go :(

Initially I was looking for a 350Z but I've always liked the Z4 coupe. This week I took both for a test drive and didn't really like the 350 but loved the Z4. So I'm now on a serious hunt for a car though am in no rush.
Mikedav who I've seen on here pointed me in the direction of this forum as he used to be one of us over at uk-mkivs - he's been very helpful in my decision making process for a coupe.

NikB - welcome to the Forum. There has always been a lively (and friendly :poke: ) debate on here over the benefits of Coupes over Roadsters and vice versa. It’s really a matter of personal choice, funds etc. The Roadster does at least offer you the best of both worlds – open top motoring on those occasional fine days we have in the UK and the ability to close the lid when required. The Coupe restricts you to only the one style – sardine motoring!

In my opinion both are excellent vehicles and it’s a case of working out what you are prepared to pay and starting to search. In my signature is a link to a check list to consider when looking at a ‘pre owned’ vehicle which may assist. There are always a few well looked after and maintained vehicles advertised on this Forum as a starting point. Good hunting.

welcome- i had a mk4 gttdi (was a very rare visitor to he ik mkiv forum) before my z and believe me when you change u wont regret it! Any pics of the golf?

Nothing recent though I'm going to be getting some done soon once it's had a good detailing workup.

I'm definitely set on the coupe. I have considered the Roadster but there's just something about the coupe I really like and I've decided I must have one. :D

welcome

I had a 25th aniversy golf a few years back - but the 1.8T petrol... I loved the kit and the black headlights on it!

I was also looking at the 350z before i got my car - but the £400 rfl and 23mpg put me off it - also went in my friends 07 313 and and in the wet that car is damn noisey - as the rear wheels are not shielded from the main cabin.
